KMU


As the first private medical university in Taiwan (1954), Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) is known for its outstanding medical science education and research. KMU is currently equipped with 4+1 affiliated hospitals which not only provide comprehensive health care to the public but also offer integrated medical trainings to medical interns. Each year, KMU offers more than 300
places in degree programs for international and overseas Chinese students to pursue higher education/ research in the important medical base in southern Taiwan.

KMU is a fully-developed medical university that consists of 7 Colleges, which are College of Medicine, College of Dental Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, College of Health Sciences, College of Life Science, and College of Humanities and Social sciences.

Supportive Environment for improving Chinese language skills and cultural knowledge

KMU Center for Languages and Culture provides free Chinese courses during school semesters and are run with professional teaching materials and aimed to meet students’ needs. International students are given free Chinese courses in KMU. The aim is to develop students’ daily conversation skills, foster basic reading & writing abilities and learn Chinese culture.

Various cultural activities
To celebrate Chinese New Year by writing couplets, to experience Moon Festival by peeling pomelos and eating moon cake… International students can even apply and celebrate their traditional festivals at campus of KMU, where different cultures meet.
